Biak is eastern Indonesia's which airport may be landed by any type of wide-bodied aircraft such as DC-10, Boeing 747 and MD-11. The Frans Kasiepo Airport of Biak is also one of the most important and frequently used airports in Irian Jaya. Besides connecting flights to many cities outside Irian Jaya, Biak is also vital for distributing passengers to Jaya pura, Manokwari, Sorong, Serui, Nabire Numfor and other towns in the island.

The main attractions in Biak are diving, World War remains, orchid garden, bird park  and more. There are six diversified areas with 40 islands that offer spectacular diving spots. Another traditional show is fire walking, where men show their courage and skill by walking on heated stones.

In the mean time, biak is also planned to develop 325 hectares of tourism center that would be come Irian Jaya's high-lights.A four-star hotel with 262 rooms and 19 cottages is now operating.In the future this will include six star-rating hotels, marine tourism, golfcoourse, traditional market and other facilitie.
