A Short stay in Biak enables you to see bth Orchid Garden and 'Bird Park', actually the huge permanent bird cage instead of a park.The orchid garden, where you can witness hundreds of typical orchids native to Irian Jaya , is five minutes drive from town. Of course it is not really a garden of complete orchids, but at least you can see some of a quite rare collection of Irian orchids.
At the same direction, for ten minutes, you can also see the bird park. Not really a park but a huge cage that collects few birds of paradise, cockatoo, crowned pigeons and including thirty more different birds. This is good for those having no time for long adventure. Furthermore, this place is just on he way from the airport to Biak Beach Hotel at Marauw.
