HAMADI

Another beach is in Hamadi, where the Allied Force landed and attacked the Japanese troops during the World War in 1942. Here you may still found the war ruins of tanks, landing crafts,etc. that used during the World War. Around the beach you can see native villagers living in traditional houses. Not far away, fishermen bring their fish to be sold in the fish market. Local market and souvenir shops are also close to the beach where you can buy Asmat carvings and other Irian's handicrafts.
